SPEAKER PRESENTATION

The Power of Peer Review

Conference Track: Organizational Transformation and Improvement

The governing principle of peer reviews is that by having at least one other set of eyes peer review and comment on our work products, at succeeding stages of the SDLC, the quality of the work products and deliverables will be improved substantially, earlier, and at reduced cost. Starting with the description of an historical and embarrassing failure in the history of NASA's exploration of Mars, caused primarily by insufficient peer review implementation, the presenter will introduce the attendees to the principles, practice, preparation, and power of the peer review process. The presentation will expose the many myths and complaints about peer review practice.
