A State’s Vision for Enterprise Data Management

Conference Track: Manage Your data for Peak Performance

The State of Arizona, Strategic Enterprise Technology Office, awarded a multi-year state-wide enterprise data management contract to three companies, among them CMMI Institute. The state has been engaging in inter-agency data governance and collaborative projects, and has envisioned far-reaching and ambitious objectives to raise the level of education about data management, baseline current capabilities, and establish critical data sharing initiatives. We’ll describe the state’s program goals and how the Data Management Maturity Model and associated services are helping to advance their agenda.

Data Quality Practices Improve Patient Safety

Conference Track: Manage Your data for Peak Performance

Accurately and consistently matching patient data records is critical to ensuring safe and effective care to patients, preventing incorrect treatment and diagnosis decisions. The Patient Demographic Data Quality (PDDQ) Framework was derived from the Data Management Maturity Model by CMMI Institute, commissioned by Health and Human Services, Office of the National Controller for Health IT. The PDDQ helps organizations ensure that formulation, agreements, approvals, and implementation of standards and processes will be effective and sustainable, supporting the minimization of the number of duplicate records across the industry, ultimately improving patient safety.
